Multnomah Falls is the second highest year-round waterfall in the United States, 620 feet from top to bottom. Also, it is located in the heart of the stunning Columbia River Gorge. Multnomah Falls is the most visited recreation spot in the Pacific Northwest, with over 2 million visitors a year.
Part of what makes Multnomah Falls so attractive is its easy accessibility, located at exit 31 along I-84, as well as access from the Historic Columbia Hwy 30. Part of what makes visiting Multnomah Falls such a memorable experience is Benson Bridge, which is a short hike from the base of the falls. This spot provides an excellent photo opportunity with views of the falls and gorge. The trail also continues another 1.1 miles to the top of the falls. Once you have reached that height, the views become more stunning.
Also, along the Historic Highway 30 there are a number of other waterfalls to visit and enjoy, including Bridal Veil Falls, Latourell Falls and Wahkeena Falls. Two other view points along the drive include the Vista House at Crown Point and the Portland Women’s Forum Viewpoint.
