About Us
Whispering Woods Resort is located one mile off Highway 26 in the town of Welches, which is situated in Oregon’s Mt. Hood Territory. The majestic Mt. Hood is about 17 miles east of the Resort and rises 11,239 feet to the tallest point in Oregon.
Development at Whispering Woods Resort began in 1981. At that time, 28 units were built in 4 separate buildings along the 9th fairway of a 27-hole golf course owned by The Resort at The Mountain. Originally envisioned as a full-ownership condominium project, Whispering Woods evolved into a 74-unit vacation ownership resort with 10 traditional whole ownership condominiums.
Things have changed at Whispering Woods over the last 30 years. Today, we host traditional condominium owners, Oregon vacation rental guests, timeshare owners and exchange guests from around the world. We offer some of the finest Mt. Hood vacation rentals in our region.
Whispering Woods Resort is managed and operated by a great group of local people who call the Mt. Hood Territory their home. Many have spent their entire lives within 20 miles of the resort and are experts on the Mt. Hood area. Full and part-time employees take good care of our owners, exchange guests and those who enjoy staying in our beautiful Mt. Hood rental units.
Since 1996, Vacation Resorts International (VRI) has provided management services to Whispering Woods. The nation’s largest independent timeshare management company in the industry, VRI manages more than 140 resort associations in 26 states, Mexico and Canada.
Whispering Woods Resort’s proximity to The Resort at The Mountain affords our guests easy access to a beautiful golf course, two restaurants and a day spa, all of which are open to the public. Our outstanding location also offers guests access to a long list of great local restaurants, a post office, a pharmacy, hair salons and a full-service grocery store.
The Mt. Hood Territory is a rich and expansive recreation destination. The Mt. Hood National Forest features picturesque forested hills and mountain lakes, year-round alpine skiing and snowboarding, seasonal cross country skiing, snow shoeing, backpacking and hiking, fishing, bicycling and more.
