The Villages are home to a number of different restaurants, each with its own unique style. Below is some information about Welches Oregon Restaurants, many are located in the neighboring towns such as Brightwood, Welches, Zigzag, Rhododendron, Government Camp, and a select few from Sandy. BRIGHTWOOD
Brightwood Tavern
“Still off the beaten path…since 1947” is the Tavern’s motto and while it is not on Hwy 26 it is only about a mile off the highway along Brightwood Loop Road. The Brightwood Tavern is a favorite for locals, with the homey atmosphere, it is sure to make visitors feel comfortable. The Tavern is located in “beautiful downtown Brightwood” in a cozy historic cabin. Menu items include unique burgers, fried chicken, pizza, and 14 beers on tap. Pool, air hockey, darts, outdoor beer garden with a fire pit all contribute to making The Brightwood Tavern a fun place.

This unique eatery is found in the main check-in area of the Mt. Hood Oregon Resort. The menu is described as casually upscale, utilizing local seasonally available ingredients. This is one of the nicest restaurants on the mountain…and beyond. Zigzag Inn
Enjoy a meal in the historic Zigzag Inn, where you’ll experience a cozy cabin feel. The inn was built in the late 1920s, by William Lenz a local builder, responsible for the original Mazama Lodge as well as nearly 30 cabins in the area. Al Forno Ferruzza
Serving up authentic style pizza. Thin crust, ingredients, and all. Stephen Ferruzza has brought Italian style pizza to the mountain. They use stone deck ovens reaching up to 800 degrees, giving the pizza a crunch and a chew. The pizzas are made of organic ingredients and the sauces and ricotta are made by hand. His family back in New York, owns a business that produces maple syrup. He’ll be weaving this special ingredient into his various works.

Other than Subway, Dairy Queen is the only other fast food found in the Welches area but Rhododendron has been it’s home for a very long time. Timberline Lodge
Timberline Lodge has five restaurants in total, two in the day lodge and three in the historic lodge. Highlighted below are the three restaurants in the historic lodge.
Cascade Dining Room is the more formal of the three, found in the main lobby of the lodge. This was the original dining room within the lodge. Lunch offers an excellent buffet. The Ram’s Head Bar is the newest of the three, added in the mid 1950’s when Richard L. Kohnstamm took over the resort portion. This restaurant is found in the mezzanine and provides beautiful views of the surrounding area and is a great option for a light meal and drinks. The Blue Ox Bar is the original bar found in the historic lodge. It was originally a firewood storage closet and at the last minute converted into a bar. Today it is a seasonal pizza spot, open during the summer and weekends during the winter months.
